You and me have history
wash it all away
You and me have history I see you but somehow you don’t see me something about familiarity that blinds us from seeing our true reality right there in the background waiting like nothing had ever happened in the first place though You and me have what I’d call more than simple history something that seeps through our fingers each time we try and grab it a thousand beige grains to say less recentering my skin in the present that's some type of comfort no one else can offer ’cause each time I sit next to you my yesterday just starts making sense somehow your curves wash away all of my worries and fears still often I forget you’re nearer than I think there’s something special about the way your saltiness tells me that my future too will be well You and me have something I call history that’s hard to depict in just words something about the way you look at me and kiss the sky over there makes me think you'll always wrap around me all too well.
Heart Call:
When life gets too hard, I always tell my loved ones:
go to the beach
get in that water or stare at the ocean
breathe in that saltiness
…and pray
Your situation may be so heavy. But friends, there’s something about being in nature reminds us that God holds it all. And what you’re going through isn’t too big for Him. A year from now you’ll realize “what was I so worried about?”
This too will pass. This too shall pass.
Where in your life do you feel the most pressure right now?
How can you make some time
this week to spend
a few minutes with God near the ocean (sunset or sunrise)?
