I could trust you with...
a few more grains
you asked Me to let this cup pass away had to go through a lot just to get here this year sometimes you wanted that polished story but it wasn’t yours to take asking Me, will it... my life always be this hard? a million thoughts running like haywire through your brain why me why me but have you considered my child... why not you? occupying that space in your toxic workplace it was hard for a while but I wouldn’t have it any. other. way. I saw the things you had to face but I never dropped you on hard soil I was there too I'm only trying to help you see I allowed this season because I could trust you with a few more grains than yesterday before you ever saw yourself I saw the full harvest the seeds that would one day split open that brown dirt you needed to go low, my child to become strong a seed growing each step of the way oh, my sweet child... how I love you so to draw you nearer to Me always now you know it wasn’t just your future at stake I just could trust you with that level of pain. Heart Call:
We often think that when things get hard, it means we’ve stepped outside of God’s will. But the truth is — no one positioned us there. He did.
So we don’t get to quit the hard thing unless He says so.
Paul and Silas, God could trust them with suffering and to stay in the cell. Trusting them with the jailer’s and his family’s salvation. I can’t help but think that in your suffering and mine, He is there too.
The jailer, seeing the doors open, assumes the prisoners have escaped and draws his sword to kill himself. Paul cries out, and Paul and Silas prevent him from harming himself, assuring him that they are all still there. —Acts 16:27-29
The jailer, trembling, brings them out and asks, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Paul and Silas reply, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household”. They then share the word of the Lord, the jailer and his family are baptized, and they share a meal together in joy. —Acts 16:30-34
What has God asked you to do that you’ve wanted to quit,
or already have? How can you contend against pride
by asking Godto empower you to keep going?
